At the time of writing, we are in the midst of our third heatwave of Summer 2026, and it’s not even mid-July. The Climate and Ecological Emergency is here and the time for tiny measures has passed. It can be difficult to know where to start, what to feel, or even how to talk about it.
Fortunately, there is an abundance of responses available to us. Multiple groups, organisations and individuals are already hard at work in our community building the resilient future Waltham Forest where we can all thrive within safe planetary boundaries.
Here at The Hornbeam, we know that our power is amplified exponentially when we work together. It’s also more fun, and better for your mental health.
With support from the Lottery Community Fund, we are working to support the flourishing of collective, creative and compassionate activity, towards a community-led response to the Climate and Ecological Emergency;
