World Food Day

Join Organiclea at the Hornbeam to celebrate World Food Day on Saturday 16 October with a wine-making workshop and a harvest feast… celebrating our local food production and connecting it to the global food picture.

The future of food: community control or corporate control?
Harvest Feast, Saturday 16 October 7pm, at the Hornbeam

Come and enjoy a sumptuous supper of locally sown, grown, picked and prepared delicious food. We will be using as much produce from Hawkwood and local growers as we possibly can for a surprise autumn warming menu! Feasting will be followed by a discussion on the future of food: community control or corporate control? Looking at food production in London and how groups are growing in unusual spaces, and how we can challenge the ever-present threat of genetically modified big-business-controlled food.
£10 for 3 course meal; wine, beer and freshly pressed juice on sale. We need to know numbers so we’re asking you to pay in advance to book your place! – pop into the Hornbeam or Hawkwood, or send your name and cheque (payable to Organiclea) to Marlene, 458 Hoe St, Walthamstow E17 9AH.

And to whet your appetite before the feast:
