Connect & cook with your community!
COVID-19 has disconnected many of us from each other and left us feeling isolated. Let’s come together for an online cooking journey!
You’ll attend 4 sessions with a group of 10 people, sharing recipes and ideas and getting to know new people along the way.
It’s a chance to meet new people, talk about food and learn a thing or two from a community chef working in Waltham Forest. You’ll be coming together online with the same group for all 4 sessions, so you’ll get to know the people in your group
What kind of food will you be cooking?
All cooking workshops will be based around cooking delicious vegan food from a range of cuisines
Ingredients will be sent to you prior to the workshops so you won’t have to buy anything. These will be delivered by cycle volunteers from The Hornbeam.
Some ingredients will be from our Food Rescue Project, which collects surplus food (food that is perfectly good to eat but would otherwise go to landfill for various reasons) from food businesses in London. So not only will you be connecting with people and learning to cook a meal, you’ll also be doing your bit for the environment by stopping food waste!
What you need
You need to be a resident in Waltham Forest.
You will need a laptop or smartphone in order to participate with video in the online cooking workshops.
You will also need basic ingredients like oil, salt, pepper as well as basic cooking utensils (pots, pans, a hob to cook on).
