A Celebration of all things Apple!
Join us to celebrate the healthy, humble, tasty apple and all that the autumn season brings. The hugely popular Apple Day draws 1,000 visitors each year to the splendid gardens of the Vestry House Museum in Walthamstow, Sunday 14 October from 11am-3pm.
There will be fruit trees and local produce for sale. A chance to get your unknown apples identified and top tips on caring for your fruit trees from the Heritage Fruit Tree Co.
Quench your thirst with drinks made from unwanted garden apples and pears including mulled cider at The Orchard Project’s cider bar. Locally produced honey, bread, jam and chutneys, locally grown cut flowers, teas and coffee, juices and home-baked cakes and desserts for sale.
Attractions also include apple tasting, pressing and bobbing with OrganicLea, music by Auntie Maureen, artist and designer stalls and access to the Vestry House Museum and gardens.
For children there will be an area with storytelling, crafts and face painting.
And the return of the surprisingly competitive Longest Apple Peel Competition!
