The Hornbeam Centre & COVID-19

The Hornbeam Centre recognises the need generated by the social-distancing and isolation measures coming to bear on the population and we want to support all our residents that are vulnerable and in self isolation.

The Hornbeam

  • Food Redistribution Network:
We redistribute food to other community food projects, community kitchens or groups of people providing free access to food in the borough. If you are a group of people cooking or providing food to the community for free, please get in touch
  • We are working with groups of residents to support them in setting up their own food cooperatives. If you are interested, please contact us here

The Gleaners Community Cafe

  • The community cafe is run by The Gleaners, an independent workers cooperative, who provide fresh vegan meals daily on a pay what you feel basis. They also offer groceries on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Cafe hours for collecting meals 12 – 3 pm. Questions? Call 020 8558 6880
Please support this project by donating to The Gleaners‘ Crowdfunder, or donating directly to the Hornbeam Centre

Hornbeam Solidarity

Like other groups working across boroughs and in smaller communities, we’re setting up a volunteer network that can cook meals and distribute food supplies. Through our partners, we are aiming to reach people who may need support with food, groceries or other acts of solidarity.

Email Volunteering with any questions or sign up below.

We are looking to grow our pool of amazing volunteers to help us with deliveries, cooking, food sorting etc. This is an opportunity for us to show up for our community with kindness, solidarity and care.
