February Film Night at The Hornbeam Centre is right around the corner on Thursday 25th of February at 6:30pm. This month is hosted by OrganicLea, Community Food Growers’ Network and Landworkers’ Alliance and will focus on the upcoming campaign for a national food policy that puts control of our food system into the hands of the people who grow, eat, harvest, distribute food.
Food prices sky high… and ridiculously low. Food producers under-valued. Unprecedented waste. How do we create the solutions?
We will show a few short films on movements across the world around food sovereignty as well as how countries like Australia and Canada have created food policy that ensures our food systems put people and the environment– not corporate agribusinesses. You will also get a chance to have your voice heard as the UK Food Sovereignty Movement starts a process to create The Peoples Food Policy for the UK. As always there will be free food, good company and beer and wine to purchase from Hornbeam Cafe.
