E17 Art Trail 2012

E17 Art Trail: Awareness 1st – 15th September 2012

Enjoy exhibitions from Majed Shala, Greenpeace and Happy in Walthamstow during cafe hours (11am – 4pm Wed – Fri, 10.30 – 5pm Sat), and sample our tasty local organic food and fairtrade drinks.

Arts Canteen will present Majed Shala‘s works which has been described as suggesting “classical Arabic calligraphy while undermining the form at the same time.” (Valerie Grove, Nature Strikes Back). Since the early 1990s the artist has been active in the education and training of young Gazan artists. He has exhibited his photos, paintings and video installations internationally.

Art of Action: Greenpeace Photography. Iconic photography from Greenpeace campaigns and actions – local, national and global. This is what taking action to save the planet looks like. Evening events include short film screenings. The Greenpeace exhibition is open right through until 9pm on Fridays & Saturdays.
