Cafe Volunteers needed

The Hornbeam’s life blood is its amazing volunteers. We are looking for friendly people to help out in our cosy cafe during the week. Could you help?

Shifts are 9am-2pm or 1-6pm. Tues, Wed or Thurs.

If you have cafe experience that would be great, but if not, just a friendly and pro-active attitude with lots of passion for good food and some experience with food prep is most important.

By volunteering you’ll be helping this long-standing community space keep its costs low so we can support community initiatives in various ways. You’ll also learn about running a cafe and be in a wonderful, supportive and social place.

Start date: as soon as possible

Contact: Anne@hornbeam.org.uk or drop by and say hello.

Job opportunity: Hornbeam Coordinator

APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS NOW PASSED

We are looking to recruit a new, dynamic, community-minded Hornbeam Coordinator.

This exciting part-time role (24.5 hours, expected to rise to 28) exists to coordinate the many community, low cost living and sustainability projects happening under the Hornbeam umbrella, both grant-funded and enterprise, and is a great opportunity for someone who has experience and passion for innovative community work.

All projects come under our Low Cost Living initiative, which seeks to facilitate and engage people in activities that support them to reduce their costs of living, including financial, health and environmental costs.

Current and planned activities and projects include Food Rescue, Healthy Eating,  community development, JoyRiders Cycling Project, volunteer coordination, management of the Hornbeam Centre, and support to the Hornbeam cafe and Hornbeam Learning Lodge E4.
