A People's Kitchen feast

Community Mondays

Community Mondays: one-off, drop-in opportunities 10.00am-2pm – we help maintain the space together, pick up some skills and often have some lunch too.

Past Community Mondays have included Makeover Mondays (painting, repairing and general upkeep of the Hornbeam), skill shares in low cost and sustainable living, sign-writing, jam and juice making (working to an AQA certification for those that would like to get it), food prep for People’s Kitchen, social media sharing and admin support.

We are recruiting Community Monday Lead Volunteers – could that be you? If you’re interested in leading a group of volunteers of various abilities and inspire them to learn about cooking we’d love to hear from you! Full position details coming soon. We’re looking to recruit a few Community Monday Lead Volunteers so the sessions will be shared among a few people. 11am-2.30pm

Generally Community Mondays are as follows:

First Monday: People’s Kitchen
Second Monday: Makeover Monday
Third Monday: People’s Kitchen
Fourth Monday: Jamming
Fifth Monday (if there is one): pot luck!
Community Mondays are led by experienced facilitators and are open to all.

But check the What’s On page as sometimes Community Mondays change due to national holidays etc. There are no Community Mondays on Bank Holidays.

Pop-in and join us any Monday to take part in an activity (ring the doorbell as the cafe will look closed) or just come and learn about other volunteering roles. Alternatively, email volunteering@hornbeam.org.uk or fill in the form below.
