CULTIVATE URBAN FOOD FESTIVAL: A festival for new and experienced growers

Hornbeam and our partners Organiclea are very excited to be so involved in the Cultivate Urban Food Festival again, with food drink, music, food growing advice and chat. Come and join the fun! 

Mon 5 Sept, 1pm -2.30pm – People’s Kitchen, FREE
A delicious lunch made from food surplus, the first Monday of every month.

Join us for a special Cultivate session – bring your allotment surplus and be part of cooking it. We especially want to encourage anyone that needs a free meal to come along, so please spread the word.

If you’d like to volunteer to cook from 10am, please sign up at volunteering@hornbeam.org.uk. Otherwise we’ll see you for lunch at 1pm!

Thurs 8 Sept, 6-9.30pm – Hornbeam Film Night: Local Roots, Global Shoots FREE ENTRY
Local roots, global shoots – a night of short films and discussions linking local food growing, global food systems and how we can help promote positive change.

Saturday 10th September, from 10am Cultivate Food Fayre & Local Brewers Beer Festival, People’s Food Fair
Local brews, live music and organic vegetarian and vegan street food at the Hornbeam. Food served from 10am until late. Live music from 2pm until late. Local beer on tap all day.

Sat 10am-3pm – Organiclea Stall outside the Hornbeam selling fresh, locally grown fruit, veg, bread and preserves and lots of information on food growing.

Sat 12-4pm – Local Roots, Global Shoots stall – discussion space linking local food growing and global food issues, sovereignty movement and sample tasty organic goods including Zapatista coffee or Zaytoun olive oil.

Sat 2-3.30pm – Make your own salad box – create up-cycled window boxes and plant salad seedlings. Drop-in.

Sat 2.30-4pm – Understanding Honeybees and the Honeybee Crisis – learn about the inner workings of the hive and how to help bees. Booking recommended: info@organiclea.org.uk
