Saturday morning sessions:


YOGA FOR OLDER PEOPLE’S HEALTH with Alison Wade

Focussing on balance, alignment and improving self awareness this simple introduction to yoga for older people will help connect mind, body and breath. Bring your own mat.

CHANGING YOUR DIET AND LIFESTYLE TO BEAT CANCER with Carolyn Axtell
Breast cancer survivor Carolyn Axtell shares her health recovery journey, the factors which contributed to her cancer and how she corrected them through diet and lifestyle changes. Learn how to reduce the risk of developing cancer and improve wellbeing by reducing exposure to environmental toxins, improving diet and managing stress.”
Carolyn will also be making fresh vegetable and fruit juices for people to try and will have handouts from various cancer/complementary health charities such as Yes to Life, Breast Cancer haven and the Penny Brohn Centre (eg nutritional guidelines, info on environmental toxins etc).

GUIDED MEDITATION with Jyoti
After the week we’ve all had, this will be a great moment to pause and recharge.

BEES WAX CANDLE MAKING DEMO AND TALK from Pimp Hall Park and Nature Reserve allotments Bee Project

Find out about honey bees and bee keeping and take part in a question and answer session. There will be a practical demonstration of candle making and an invitation to join a candle making workshop later in the year. Plus honey tasting.

Saturday afternoon sessions:
2pm till 2:30pm

INTRO TO EASY YOGA FLOW SESSION with Kate

Open level slow flowing class, with focus on correct body alignment and connecting breath with the movement. Come explore the power of simple yet strengthening practice of yoga. Everyone welcome. Mats are limited so we advise to bring your own if you have it.

WALKING IN NATURE AND HERB PLANTING with Rasheeqa 
Rasheeqa Ahmad from Hedge Herbs is a community herbalist based in Walthamstow and is excited about the sharing of plant medicine knowledge amongst the people through Hedge Herbs.
She will offer a guided herb walk around the nature reserve teaching about traditional and contemporary medicinal uses of seasonal plants as well as folklore and practical applications.
She will also have a stall of handcrafted herbal remedies for you to sample.
