As a celebration of the local-ness of the food that we serve at the Hornbeam cafe, we are holding a Harvest Feast with as much of the food as possible coming from Hawkwood growing site in Chingford and local allotmensts.

The feast for forty people will comprise:

Spinach and coconut soup

Roast winter squash, stuffed with red & green peppers and black beans

Deep fried sage leaves

Glazed beetroot, carrots and parsnips

Kale and leeks stewed with fresh tomatoes

Braised callaloo

Apple crumble and soya cream or custard

Local items are:

Spinach, callalo, parsnips, apples and sage from allotments in and around Walthamstow

Leeks,peppers, tomatoes, winter squash, black beans, beet, carrots and kale from Hawkwood growing site, Chingford
