Can you help Waltham Forest Green Open Homes happen in 2017?
LAST YEAR’S GREEN OPEN HOMES
18th & 19th June 2016
Join us for a weekend of energy and money-saving ideas around Waltham Forest!
The Hornbeam is proud to present the third Waltham Forest Green Open Homes, on 18 & 19th June 2016 – we’ve got together some of the most interesting ‘green’ homes in the borough for you to have a nosey at! More details of each home and its opening times.
What is Waltham Forest Green Open Homes?
It’s a great opportunity for people to visit homes in the borough that have been made greener, warmer and cheaper to run. Homes range from the traditional to the funky, large and small, low budget and high tech.
All our hosts have a wealth of information and great stories to tell about what motivated them to make these changes, and what they learned in the process. Several of our homes featured in the last two year’s weekends – come and see what has changed in the last twelve months!
Who is it for?
If you are interested in improving your home, living more cheaply and thinking creatively about your living space then this weekend is for you. We have several rented homes in the programme this year, showing that you don’t have to own your home to make substantial improvements – and savings!
How does it work?
This year the homes will be drop-in (except for Dee and Dwight’s house which has two bookable tours on Saturday).
Some homes are open on Saturday, some on Sunday, so use the info here or pick up a brochure and fold out map from the Hornbeam or Waltham Forest libraries to plan your route on each day. Brochures will also be available at each Green Open Home venue and energy advice sessions.
Tues 14-Thurs 16 June, 10am-4pm
Come and visit HEET, our local energy advice organisation in The Mall, Selbourne Walk – bring your bills and they’ll analyse them for you! Also pick up paint from Forest Recycling Project and even some beautiful upcycled furniture from Shed Homewares E17.
Thurs 16 June, 4-8pm – Hot Tips for Warm Homes with Expert session at 6.30pm
Friday Hill TMO, The Chingdale Centre, 19 Chingdale Road, London E4 6HZ. Expert session on keeping homes warm and saving money at 6.30pm Friday Hill, The Chingdale Centre, 19 Chingdale Road, London, E4 6HZ . Open to all.
