Wellbeing Day 2017
Saturday 18 March 2017, 11am–7pm
The Hornbeam is running its second Wellbeing Day at the Learning Lodge with Dao Lu Thai Chi and 15+ other local groups to stage this wonderful event.
Tai Chi, yoga, singing, massage, kick boxing for young people, makin
g lights and lanterns and a glow walk, the list is endless. We even have a Men’s Shed Group for guy-friendly chat!
Workshops are first come, first served, due to limited spaces. There will be a signing-up list on the door.
Every second and fourth Sunday enjoy quality time with your kids.
Kids Kitchen will help you make delicious food with your under 5s and other activities will be taking place inside and outside the Learning Lodge such as outdoor learning, visits to Pimp Hall allotments, activities with the Friends of Pimp Hall Park. Activities will take place on the second and fourth Sunday of every month with activities from Kids Kitchen, Walk the Loop and Craft activities.

We’re running drop-ins at Friday Hill (NOT the Learning Lodge) every week and are looking for volunteers in Chingford E4 to help us out. Contact Elizabeth for more info.

Nicholas Clark, Utility Warehouse representative and local neighbour, will be helping us on how we can save money, fix our energy prices, keeping everything in just one bill and get FREE LED Bulbs including installation!

- Tues 21 March – Sleep Sound with Herbal Medicine, 3-5pm
Gail Farrow well experienced herbalist explains the beauty of sleep. We will explore how modern life can disturb our sleep patterns and some simple things we can do to help restore our sleep. We will discuss, make and taste bedtime drinks, consider exercise, breathing, use of essential oils and some gentle herbal remedies that can be used safely to help. Will include a comforting hot chocolate drink!

German Language Play and Activities at the Lodge
Second Sunday of every month from Mar-June.
Indoor and outdoor activities for all families interested in German language and culture. This will be a chance to learn through play, stories, games and songs and with no age restrictions. There is also a book/CD/DVD exchange. Free, drop-in.
Tai Chi Classes every Wednesday (term times) 10am – 11am

Half term adventures:
WALK THE LOOP: Hedgehog Reading Club, 13th and 15th February, 1.30-3pm
For children aged 3-7 and their parent-carers. Older siblings are welcome!
Over two sessions, we will:
– read One Winter’s Tale by Christina Butler and meet the warm-hearted Little Hedgehog
– find out more about how hedgehogs live, feed and sleep through the coldest months
– follow a hedgehog trail
– make a hedgehog home
– craft our own hedgehogs from a range of natural materials

Wildlife Photography Competition
Capture the beauty of Pimp Hall Nature Reserve with a camera and win fantastic prizes with your photographs. Whether you are a hobby-photographer or a professional – we believe you can win! There are two categories: Wildlife and Still-life. All pictures need to be of Pimp Hall Nature Reserve and submitted electronically or in print by the 8th February 2016. Winners of the competition will be announced on the 20th February. Submitted work will be assessed by a panel of professional photographers and nature experts.
The site is accessible during sunlight hours, every day.
