As part of the Hornbeam’s Community Mondays, Kids Kitchen will be on the third Monday of every month. Join us with your little-ins – prepare and eat fresh healthy food with while singing songs, playing and washing up.
Kids Kitchen is a collective of Parents and Vegan Chefs who want to share food with young children. Creating spaces for Kids and parents to get stuck in and explore cooking, local, organic, fun food with out having to worry how much mess they are making!
If you have a child or children under 5 come to Kids’ Kitchen, or tell your friends who do to, and cook a fun, healthy lunch while exploring, enjoying and learning about food.

Have you made home improvements which have kept you warm and saved you money? If so, would you be willing to share your experience to inspire others? We’re looking for people to take part in this year’s Green Open Homes weekend on 16th & 17th May 2015.
Last year over 400 visits were made to 15 homes across the borough where energy saving measures were on show and householders were on hand to talk about the impact these had made on their homes and their fuel bills.
The Hornbeam Cafe invites you to a feast with delicious healthy tasty food – locally sown, grown, picked and cooked! All making use of as much local produce as possible, provided by Organiclea Community Growers.
The Fork to Fork is 7.30pm – 10.30pm on the last Saturday each month.
The menu is susceptible to change as the growing climate in North East London can be somewhat unreliable…. however, for £20 we can guarantee a delicious and hearty 3 course meal. We are fully licensed serving organic wines and locally brewed beers.
The Hornbeam cafe, based in Walthamstow, North East London, is a not-for-profit social enterprise space which supports small scale local growers and producers by maintaining a locally sourced and seasonal menu. The Hornbeam cafe works closely with OrganicLea, a farming cooperative with a growing site based in Hawkwood, and links with many other small scale local food producers.
OrganicLea place an emphasis on propagating and growing heritage species, so you can expect some different-from-the-norm vegetables being cooked up at the Hornbeam cafe!
This annual event is a celebration of the healthy, humble, handy apple – and all the other good things that Autumn brings. Highlights include:
Apples for sale, as well for tasting, pressing and bobbing by Organiclea
Food by Norman Loves
Crafts for all by Significant Seams
Tea and Cakes by Eat or Heat
Snow White by Grow your own Theatre
Plants and gardening advice by Vestry House Museum Gardeners
