What we do

The Hornbeam Centre is run by the people who use it. Hornbeam’s projects are organised by four groups known as "collectives" and offer wide-ranging opportunities for the community to take action on environmental and social issues. Each project holds regular planning meetings which all can participate in. A ‘coordinating group’, currently drawn from the collectives, keeps an eye on the overall functioning of the space.
New ideas will keep this space open, so if there is something you'd like to do, get in touch.
Currently the Hornbeam provides

• a hub for a range of initiatives around local food

• a base for local environmental education projects, including food growing and wildlife gardening, which take place beyond the centre

• a space for people to find out what’s going on locally and how to get involved, and for local groups to meet and plan.
